DrLous Rules

Dr Lou's Rules:  Be Happy, Be Friendly, Be Nice, or BE SOMEWHERE ELSE...NO PROFANITY PERMITTED...Remember; We're AM RADIO....

Rules:

TEMPORARY RULE: ONLY HOUSE AMPLIFICATION EQUIPMENT unless it can be controlled by House Personnel

1. Please be courteous and supportive of ALL the musicians who show up to play, regardless of their skill levels

2. Please be courteous to the patrons who come in to listen to your music. (watch the crowd, keep the volume so that people can communicate)

3. Please be ready to play a "SONG", don't noodle, or excessively tune out loud, or just JAM on an instrument. (I'm sure you don't like to year anyone else just do that)

4. Please be patient with the staff while waiting to go on, everyone is welcome to play, but sometimes a "solo" act int he middle of a bunch of bands doesn't work.

5. Practice your material.  Be ready to peform in a manner that you would have someone listen to you and that you might listen to them.

6. Respect the equipment, Do not play too loud or take liberties with the equipment outside of how you might treat your own things.

7. Show your appreciation for the music played, clap, whistle, and generally make the act feel at home.

8. Be prepared to have people join you in your performance on Dr Lou's stage, everyone wants to look polished as performers, but the "open" part of the stage means try to be open to having people you don't know, join in wherever possible.  That means people who fit some musical ability, not that they've practiced "your songs your way".

9. Look to see if other musicans are present and offer them the chance to play or join you after 4 of your own or your group's songs.  No musician likes to just sit and watch other people play, they want to join in, make it easy for that to happen, and make a friend, we have made many friends this way.

10. Have fun, don't bring any attitudes, if you are having a bad day, come when you're having a better day.  That's why they made tomorrows, so you can do what you couldn't get done today...

11. ENJOY....HAVE FUN...MAKE FRIENDS...PLAY YOUR MUSIC...REACH BLISS...if you don't; don't blame us...

Thanks to all the musicans who have understood and abided by these rules...We Love You All .... Dr Lou's

Thanks to all the musicians who continue to support Dr Lou's Place.  Hope to see you in a town near you.

Thanks and TAGADEEZ....

Dr Lou

The greatest things keep happening and we've been able to get some wonderful artists to do extraordinary things, and one in particular, Glenn Basham wrote this song about Dr Lou's called: "Goin Down to Dr Lou's"  CLICK HERE

Check out the Dan Aykroyd interview where he promises to come to Dr Lou's...CLICK HERE

If you haven't visited a Dr Lou's for music and the "Great Cheese Steak and Wings" then you haven't been anywhere lately.  We pray that we can help the world by bringing people together in harmony to enjoy the music and play together without standard politics or outside issues.  What we do is special, and no matter how long it lasts, it's been a "Dream Come True" for many musicians to be able to play on the stage at Dr Lou's.  Once you're on the stage or become a listener, either way, YOU become part of the "PRIVILEGED FEW" who have experienced the magic and family love that we all feel.

Please visit our "Page of Fame" where some of our musician friends are recognized as they enjoy what they love to do best. Special thanks to the "house men" Blair Craft, Kevin Ayers, John Holzinger, Shawn Ryan, Ron Thomas, Paul Terzano, Jimmy Wilkinson, the Basham Boyz, Tommy B Goode, Lance G, Sammy, Yogi, Glenn Multer, Pat Kinsley , Carter McWilliams, Mike Sullivan and Ray (the Musical Chefs)  and the others too numerous to mention. Without all of you, there would be no Dr Lou's and the times that we've had would be a dream.

Special thanks to Lance Gravener, Chuck Crook, Blair Craft and Paul Terzano for all the technical help with equipment loans and gifts of time and equipment, again, we are holding the future in our hands and you have helped so much.

Its about what you love to do and the effort you see fit to exert while doing what you love. Music is there for everyone and we hope you choose to enjoy it with us.

For those who may have come in and felt that maybe you didn't get to play enough or were overlooked, we aplologize. We honestly want everyone to get the chance to play and we hope that you enjoy playing your music so that other musicians will enjoy your work and that you play it with respect for yourself and others.

Dr Lou's was a vision that was shared with the Matriarch of the Pica Family, Margaret Pica. her decision to support the family business was admirable and honorable, look at her send off message listed in the Burlington County Times.
